Summer Series

WorshipWell is excited to offer you two series for the summer months. The first one, “Rushing Wind,” is a series dedicated to the Holy Spirit. We begin on June 5 with Pentecost Sunday when the Holy Spirit comes to the early church like a mighty, rushing wind.

The series continues for three weeks, exploring the Spirit as the Feminine of God, the Intimacy of God, and the one who brings the Gifts of God. The commentaries for this series are written “From the Pews,” as our graphic designer and creative genius, Holly Welch, reflects on each topic and scripture – not from the perspective of Biblical scholarship, but from the perspective of a person of faith who brings life experience, wisdom, questions, and her own beautiful wonderings to each text.

Our second series is called “Remember, you were strangers.”

Scripture is a story of refugees and immigrants. God’s people have always been on the move. Sometimes as refugees, running from danger. Sometimes as immigrants, running toward a distant shore. In this series, we will contemplate six sacred and jarring stories of people on the move. The issues they faced—displacement, lack of welcome, fear—will be both comforting and challenging. Today’s immigrants and refugees want only what our ancestors wanted, and what the people in our texts wanted: a better life for themselves and their children. And there is no denying their desperation.

"Remember, you were strangers" was written by Pastor JoAnn Post, sparked by her congregation's relationship with an Afghan family welcomed into their community after the fall of Kabul in 2021.
